The AGP slot on many Quicksilvers does not provide enough power for the ATI Radeon 9600 Pro PC/Mac 256 MB card. Your 64 MB card may not need as much power, or you may have a Quicksilver that provides a bit more power than most. The 256 MB is the only Mac 9600 card ATI is currently selling. I installed a ATI Radeon Mac 9600 Pro 256M graphics card in my Mac G5 a few years ago, and recently it started displaying only 256 colors (actually B/W) on the main DVI display. The second monitor which plugs into the other DVI port is adapted to VGA and works fine, as does either monitor with an older graphic card which supports only one monitor.

Hey guys, I notice this has been asked before But, i didnt find a discussion that answered my question specifically. (Mainly because the card im going to discuss is different.) I have found some good deals on ATI 9600 Pro graphics cards, 128MB memory, 2 DVI ports. (NO ADC pins/connector/port) But, they are listed for G5 systems. (Apparently they arent flashed PC cards either) Sooo, my question is, will i be able to use it in a MDD G4? Specifically a MDD G4 with the Single core 1.25Ghz PPC Processor (2003 model if i recall correctly) From what i can gather, it will, i'd just need to tape pins 3 and 11 to force the card to 4x AGP instead of 8X but i'd like some opinions/answers before i go buying one.
